I’VE ALWAYS BEEN A STORYTELLER.
I’m Fernando Galán, a photographer, filmmaker, and editor based in South Florida.
I’ve spent more than 18 years working in video production and post-production, but whether I’m shooting stills or cutting a film, the thing that has always interested me most is the same — the story behind the image.
I’m drawn to people doing something they genuinely care about. Athletes pushing themselves to the limit. Fighters getting ready before stepping into battle. A DJ controlling a room. The quiet moment between two people when they forget there’s a camera nearby.
That’s the stuff I look for.
My style leans cinematic and documentary. I’m not interested in simply recording what happened. I want to capture the energy, personality, emotion, and little moments that make the experience feel real.
That approach is what led me to create Galán Studios — a place where photography, filmmaking, and years of editing experience all come together under one idea:
Every Frame Has Purpose.
Most of the time you’ll find me moving around with a camera, looking for an angle, waiting for a reaction, or probably getting way closer to the action than I originally planned.
I’m meticulous about the technical side of what I do, but I never want that to get in the way of the moment. The gear, lighting, editing, and preparation are there to serve the story — not become the story.
Whether I’m photographing a live event, following an athlete through competition day, creating a portrait, or turning hours of footage into a finished film, I approach every project with the same mindset:
Make it intentional. Make it memorable. Make it feel like something.
